Place dedicated to the creation in Brussels, the Foundation Thalie proposes a public programming crossing the visual arts, the performance and the contemporary thought. A space of meetings and exchanges around arts and culture where creators are invited to confront their minds and their practices in a collaborative and transversal way. The Foundation Thalie is an initiative of Nathalie Guiot, former journalist and publisher, contemporary art lover, involved in the production through artist residencies, multiple publishing and / or co-productions with cultural institutions.
The house
Modernist architecture of the twenties, close to the Avenue Louise in Brussels and the ponds of Ixelles, the house occupied by the Foundation Thalie, was built in 1924 by the architect Jean Hendricks. It hosts a multidisciplinary program and artists in residencies by invitation. With a collection of contemporary art, the Foundation Thalie also offers bed and breakfast rentals.
The house has been completely renovated by the Vanden Eeckhoudt – Creyf architects duo, in a contemporary style, while preserving the historic spirit of the place.
