On the occasion of the opening of Textile Languages, Jimmy Robert questions clothing as a social marker and critical tool. The artist uses his body as a blank surface, laying cloth patterns on himself as an allegory of textile. For each pattern, a text is read out loud by the artist, like an invitation to discover an individual’s gender, race and social class.
