Artist-in-residency

Margaux Lelièvre

Margaux Lelièvre (1990, France) is a visual artist who graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2019. She lives and works in Paris.

Laureate of the 2021 APARTE Prize - Contemporary Art, committed to environmental issues, she is invited to pursue a five-week research residency at the Foundation.

Margaux Lelièvre creates assemblages from objects she gleans from her daily life. She favors the intimate, the ordinary, the recuperation, the derisory, and invents practices of resistance. She collects, mends, embroiders, recomposes... through thin interventions, she transforms them, manipulates them, reverses them, and weaves dialogues between these different forms. She produces shifts, sometimes minimal, that play with our perception and invite us to pay a new attention to things. With each exhibition she experiments with new possibilities of temporary and open assemblages.
During her residency, Margaux Lelièvre develops a project that creates links from the daily life of this house. She thus continues this principle of recovery and collection of materials, where the environment of the Foundation becomes a new territory of exploration.
