Founded in 2014, the Thalie Foundation is a private patronage initiative launched by Nathalie Guiot, a former publisher, art collector, environmentalist, and philanthropist. Through an art collection, a public program of exhibitions, artist residencies, and patronage in the fields of visual arts and ecological thinking, the foundation has been committed to contemporary creation for a decade.  

In 2025, the foundation will continue its work, focusing on three areas:  

  • DESIGN AND INNOVATION Dissemination and production of bio-sourced design with the launch of the ALEOR DESIGN gallery and consulting office.
  • ART AND CULTURE: Promotion of an art collection featuring more than 300 artists, with a focus on women artists, craftsmanship, and emerging scenes from global majorities.  
  • ENVIRONMENT/EDUCATION: Support for artistic practices and educational initiatives that promote nature conservation.

KEY DATES  

2012: Creation of Thalie Art Project, an association that produces artistic and performative encounters

2014: The association becomes the Thalie Foundation

2018: Opening of the art center in Brussels; artistic and cultural programming, exhibitions, artist and writer residencies;  

2020: Launch of the podcast “Créateurs Urgence Climat” (Climate Emergency Creators); how artists, designers, and scientists share their best practices to inspire the younger generation and take collective action; in partnership with ENSAD – (2021-2023); 300,000 listens, available on streaming platforms, publications

2021: Opening of the Maison Thalie in Arles, an 18th-century mansion at the foot of the arena; Exhibitions of the art collection, invitations to contemporary artists  

2025: Closure of the art center; opening of the ALEOR DESIGN gallery. Commitment to the production and distribution of bio-sourced or bio-inspired design, limited editions, promotion of expertise.

THE FOUNDER

“Faced with the depletion of resources and climate change, I am convinced that now more than ever our actions must focus on preserving life; art has the ability to fertilize new imaginations and design to offer solutions to change our lifestyles.”  

Founder and President, Nathalie Guiot is an art collector and philanthropist. She is also an author, publisher, and exhibition curator. She co-founded Anabet Editions in the 2000s and, in 2012, created Thalie Art Project, an association that produces artistic and performative encounters, which became a foundation in 2014. Nathalie Guiot is a member of the International Circle and the Design Acquisition Committee at the Centre Pompidou, a member of the Visual Arts Acquisition Committee for the CNAP (2021-2024), a member of the Scientific Committee of the Eco-design & Creation Chair at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris (2022-2025), and on the board of directors of the Friends of the Lambert Collection in Avignon (since 2023).
