Regenerative Futures

Thalie Foundation is proud to announce the release of ''Regenerative Futures'', a compelling new book published on the occasion of the exhibition, held in 2024, at the Fondation Thalie (Brussels), to mark the Foundation’s 10th anniversary.

How can artistic practices help reshape the way we live, think and connect - with nature and with emerging technologies? "Regenerative Futures" explores these questions, highlighting the innovative work of artists and designers who are breaking new ground by collaborating with science, craft and various forms of intelligence - animal, microbial or artificial. Facing climate crisis, what solutions are these creators proposing? How can we use art and design to make scientific research visible? How can we perpetuate the beauty of knowledge and traditions, and the depth of gestures and techniques, in an age of technological hyperconnectivity?

The catalog retraces this “initiatory” journey, featuring new commissions, video installations opening up new, forward-looking narratives, and a scenography based on bio-sourced materials and ecological construction techniques, designed by Brussels-based studio Bento Architecture.

Curated by Nathalie Guiot and Yann Chateigné Tytelman, the book and exhibition present a vibrant cross-section of disciplines and practices—each one a call to reimagine our future.

Regenerative Futures is both a celebration and a manifesto—an invitation to engage with the ideas and actions shaping the world of tomorrow.
